Margaret's Obituary

Margaret K. Ruhno, 99, of St. Joseph, passed away Saturday, December 4, 2010 at Caretel Inns of Lakeland, three days short of her 100th Birthday. A Celebration of Life Eternal will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Rev. Thomas Batsky officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph. Friends may call from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Caretel Inns of Lakeland. Those wishing to sign Margaret's Memory Book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Margaret was born December 7, 1910 in St. Joseph to Emil & Amanda (Yeske) Ruhno. She attended Trinity Lutheran School and Benton Harbor Business College. Margaret moved to Battle Creek when she gained employment at Security National Bank, retiring in 1975 as secretary to the president, after 45 years. She was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Joseph and also attended Peace Lutheran Church. Margaret enjoyed visiting with family & friends, the beauty of flowers, birdwatching-especially Cardinals, playing cards and her weekly Bridge Club. Miss Ruhno is survived by her step-brother Marshall Ruhno of Lansing, MI; her sister-in-law Lydia Ruhno of St. Joseph; nieces & nephews-Jo Ann (Kenneth) Giltner of Evart, MI, Ronald (Joanne Gardner) Ruhno of Cadillac, MI, Sue Ellen (Gary) Evett of Coloma, Debra Kay (Victor) Lawrick of St. Joseph, Gerald (Faye) Ruhno of Lansing, MI; great-nephews-David, Aaron & Ryan Ruhno, & Drew Lawrick; and a great-niece Danette (Ed) Blakeslee. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers-Raymond, Earl & Eugene Ruhno, and two sisters-Dorothy Mosimann & Evelyn Ruhno.
