Rex's Obituary

Rex A. Hubbard, 61, of St. Joseph, passed away Friday, October 22, 2010 at his home. A Memorial Service will be held 12:00 P.M. Saturday, October 30, 2010 at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Friends may visit from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home. Rex was born December 22, 1948 in Benton Harbor Michigan to Richard & Beulah (James) Hubbard. He graduated from Lakeshore High School in 1967 and received a Bachelor's degree from Michigan State University. Rex served his country in the Untied States Air Force during the Vietnam War from 1968 until 1972. Rex worked for Warren Dunes State Park as a DNR Ranger for many years and also owned and operated Ye Olde Towne Chimney Sweep. In his spare time he enjoyed and loved nature and was an avid Michigan State Fan. Rex is survived by his daughter Tami Douglas of FL; grandson Jacob Paul Douglas of FL; granddaughter Jenna Lynn Douglas of FL; sister Denise (Charles) Anderson of FL; nephew Matthew (Jenny) Jordan; and niece Jenney Clark. Rex was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Gary Hubbard. Rex touched many hearts in so many ways and will be greatly missed by all.
