Stevensville, MI – Charles “Chuck” J. Pauler, 80, of Stevensville, died Sunday, November 7, 2010, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph. The funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, November 10th, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 211 Church St., St. Joseph. The visitation is Tuesday, November 9th, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. (Prayers at 6:30 p.m.) at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph. The family has requested that all memorial contributions be made to Lake Michigan Catholic Schools. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guest book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Mr. Pauler was born on July 25, 1930 in Freeport, IL to Charles F. and Genevieve (Nample) Pauler. On June 21st, 1952, He married Joan Harnish in Rockford, IL. They were married for 58 years. In 1992, he retired as engineering director of dishwasher technology for Whirlpool Corporation, after a career that spanned 36 years. He received a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Notre Dame in 1952, and was a registered professional engineer. Mr. Pauler holds several patents for vacuum cleaner and dishwasher designs. He has served on several national and international appliance engineering committees. He was Chairman of the International Technical Committee for Dishwashers. Chuck was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church. He enjoyed his bridge partners, golf buddies, traveling with his wife Joan and watching Notre Dame Football. Mr. Pauler is survived by his wife, Joan; four daughters, Debra (Rick) Fantini of Greenville, WI, Christine (Terry) Conner of St. Joseph, MI; Mary (Jim Gast) Jones of Bridgman, MI, Theresa Cecil of St. Joseph, MI, and a son, Charles T. Pauler of Midland, MI. He also leaves ten grandchildren, Mark Fantini, Charles N. Pauler, Jenny Frisco, Kate and Jackie Conner, Joshua and Heather Jones, Megan, Andrew and Patrick Cecil, five great grandchildren and a special brother, Harvey (Mooney) O'Neill of Mandeville, LA. Chuck was a devoted spouse, dedicated father and a loving grandfather. He was a man of strong ethics, morals and he loved the Lord. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and loved him.
