Patricia Jenkins

Patricia “Patty Sue” Jenkins, 69, of Benton Harbor passed away Thursday, December 2, 2010, at Freedom Village in Holland Michigan where she was recuperating following several months of illness and struggle. Patty was born June 15, 1941 in Benton Harbor Michigan to Orval and Evelyn (Harner) Miller. Patty is a retired teller from Berrien Teachers Credit Union, where she was employed and loved by members of the CU far and wide for over 25 years. Patty was an active member and volunteer with the VFW #1137 of Benton Harbor, and attended Zion Evangelical Church in St. Joseph. Patty enjoyed traveling, her favorite destination being Las Vegas NV. She also enjoyed music, knitting, crocheting and spending time with her friends, but most of all, Patty cherished the time she spent with her 3 daughters and their husbands, grandchildren and great grandchild. Patty was a very gentle and caring soul who will be sadly missed by all. Patty is survived by her daughters Cindy (Tom) Williams-Dykema of Holland Michigan, Cathy (Kevin) Harrington of Three Oaks, Connie (Tim) VanDenBranden of Bellaire Michigan. Grandchildren Jaclyn Williams, Mackinzie & Bailey Harrington, Marie & Albert VanDenBranden and Great-Grandson Jaxon Casey-Williams. She is also survived by her brother William Miller of Battle Creek and best friend Valerie Bilisko of Benton Harbor. She also is survived by several nieces and nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents Orval and Evelyn who preceeded her in death, she also had a “sister” Marilyn Bachteal who passed away in 2002. Cremation has taken place and a private service is planned Summer 2011 to celebrate her life and all she has meant to the people she has touched.
