Allen Neil Kimmerly

Allen Neil Kimmerly, 79, of St. Joseph, passed away at his home Tuesday morning August 17, 2010. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd. officiated by Rev. Robert Braman with burial to follow at Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice at Home. Those wishing to sign the guest book online may do so at www.starks-menchiner.com Allen was born on August 8, 1931 in St. Joseph to Neil and Florence (Hamilton) Kimmerly. He was a graduate of St. Joseph High School and attended Michigan State University. He Retired from Whirlpool in 1994 as Director of Logistics. He was a founding member of the Twin City Tennis Club, member of South Shore Health & Racquet Club, on the board of directors of Camelot. He enjoyed playing tennis, hunting, and fishing, but mostly he loved watching tennis and tending to his garden. Allen is survived by his wife Rosalie (Wroblewski) Kimmerly, and children Melissa Kimmerly of Switzerland, Allen Kimmerly II, of Bar Harbor, ME, Eliza Kimmerly (Gordon Ford), of St. Joseph, Kristopher (Julie) Stock Kimmerly, of St. Joseph, her sister Barbara Kimmerly of St. Joseph and brother Dean Kimmerly of Chicago, Illinois. Grandchildren, Talia, Dylan, Andy, Brendon, Natalie, Ashley and Lettie Lou. He will be dearly missed by his cat “Buddy”. Preceded in death by his brother Robert Kimmerly.
