Leah's Obituary
St. Joseph, MI – Leah Helen McCrone, 87 of St. Joseph, MI, passed away on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at Sunrise of Cascade in Grand Rapids, Michigan. A private service celebrating her life was held on Saturday, August 7, 2010 at Starks & Menchinger Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd. – St. Joseph, MI. The service was officiated by Rev. Susan Sparta. Burial followed at Hickory Bluff Cemetery.
Leah was born to Archibald and Helen (Brindley) Lynch on June 2, 1923 in Denver, CO. She married Edward Joseph McCrone on June 1, 1946 in Benton Harbor, MI.
Leah is survived by her ten children, Kevin (Joan) McCrone, Marcia McCrone, MaryBeth (Greg) Bennett, Mark (Toni) McCrone, Sarah (Robert) Van Arkel, Sheila Beckmann, Maureen (Susan Sparta) McCrone, Michael (Rachelle) McCrone, Erin (Thomas) Briggs and Joe (Rochelle) McCrone. Leah is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and two brothers, Duane (Sharon) Lynch and Phillip (Rita) Lynch.
Leah was a graduate of Nazareth College, Kalamazoo, Michigan. She retired as Director of Volunteer Services from Mercy Memorial Hospital. Leah loved to walk the beaches, golf, garden, and had great artistic flare! She loved a good conversation, a great debate and the lighter side of life. She was always the life of the party. Her philosophy: live, love and laugh!
Leah was preceded in death by her husband, Edward McCrone, son, Brian McCrone, and parents, Archibald and Helen Lynch.
