Jack L. Tyler

Jack Tyler, 74, of Benton Harbor, passed away Thursday, August 19, 2010 at the University of Michigan Hospital. A Memorial Service will be held 12:00 P.M. Monday, August 23, 2010 at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Pastor Tom Hough officiating. Friends may visit from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. Jack was born October 9, 1935 in South Bend, IN to James & Esther (Snyder) Tyler. He served his country in the United States Army from 1953 until 1961. On February 14, 1959, Jack married Ruth Wagner in Benton Harbor. Jack worked for Autos Specialty, Casting Services and also had a Gold and Silver Business in Kalamazoo for many years. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and building many unique things. He also loved spending time with family and friends. Jack is survived by his wife Ruth Tyler of Benton Harbor; daughter Kim (Chuck) Forker of Benton Harbor; son Dave Tyler of Coloma; five grandchildren Kim, Amanda, Kayla, Ryan, and Paige; five great grandchildren; brother Bud (Shirley) Tyler of St. Joseph; sister Beverly Herman of Stevensville. Jack was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers and five sisters.
