Marion Taylor

Saginaw – Marion L. Taylor, 93, formerly of Benton Harbor, went home to be with the Lord, September 23rd, 2010 with her family by her side. The visitation will be on Wednesday, September 29th at 10:00 a.m. with funeral services at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, 4071 Naomi Rd., Sodus, Michigan 49126. The arrangements are entrusted with Starks and Menchinger Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph. Mrs. Taylor was born September 16th, 1917 in Benton Harbor, Michigan to Fred W. and Heldina Peidt. She was small of stature but huge in spirit, soul and personality. She earned a degree in elementary education from Western Michigan University. She taught school in Augusta, Battle Creek and Benton Harbor, Michigan during her tenure. Her interests included: Growing trophy winning roses; world travel; tutoring/mentoring children; hosting foreign exchange students; and sponsoring third world children through the REACH ministry. She also enjoyed reading, climbing sand dunes, and roller coasters, but family was her biggest interest. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Florence Johansen and Esther Hards, two brothers, Lawrence Piedt and Fred (Bud) Piedt. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Fred (Ruth) Holden of Stevensville, MI one daughter, Jean Potter of Apharetta, GA; one son, Randy Lewis of Saginaw, MI, two stepsons, Ronald Taylor of Sodus, MI and John Steven Taylor of Pagosa Springs, CO, and her other daughter, Sara Honsowetz of Saline, MI. She was loved and cherished by 13 grandchildren and many, many great-grandchildren.
