Roma Cole

St. Joseph, MI – Roma Cole, 96, of St. Joseph, MI, passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2010 at Caretel Inns in St. Joseph. A celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 16, 2010 at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4333 Cleveland Ave., Stevensville, MI. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. The arrangements have been entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd. – St. Joseph, MI. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Christ Lutheran Church or Bethesda Lutheran Home. Roma was born to William and Anna (Stockmann) Elling on March 18, 1914 in St. Paul, MN. She married Gerald A. Cole on December 27, 1941 in St. Paul, MN. Roma is survived by her daughter, Marlyss Sekki of Painesville, OH, three grandchildren, Miriam (Stuart) Armstrong of Oxford, England, Rachel Sekki of Chia-yi, Taiwan and Sarah Sekki of Chicago, IL and a sister-in-law, Maxine Elling. Roma was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald, parents, William and Anna and three siblings, Marion DeRose, Frederick Elling and Roland Elling. Her family loved her dearly, and will miss her.
