Betty J. Pillow

Betty J. Pillow, 79, of St. Joseph passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at her home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Benton Harbor Church of Christ, 1495 E. Empire, Benton Harbor with Chris Dawson officiating. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens. Friends may visit from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Friday, August 20, 2010 at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Mrs. Pillow was born August 25, 1930 in Leachville, Arkansas to Charles & Pearl (Zolman) Cook. Betty was the youngest of nine children. On July 7, 1950 she married Thomas Pillow Jr., in Lake City AR. Betty was a bookkeeper for M-139 Plumbing and Heating for many years. In her spare time she enjoyed cooking and was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother, & great grandmother. Betty is survived by her two sons Brian (Julie) Pillow of St. Joseph and Clayton (Melody) Pillow of Coloma; two daughters Paula (Joseph) Tysar of FL. and Rebecca (Raymond) Sawyer of CA.; thirteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sister Gladys Messer of AR. In addition to her parents Betty was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Pillow Jr. of 59 years of marriage; daughter Lisa Pillow; and seven brothers and sisters.
