Leonard R. Poschke

Stevensville – Leonard Richard Poschke, 83, of Stevensville, passed away on Sunday, July 4, 2010, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph. The funeral arrangements have been made with Starks and Menchinger Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph. A Celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at 11:00 am at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2673 W. John Beers Rd, Stevensville. A visitation for friends and family will be held on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Leonard was born September 10, 1926 in Baroda, MI to William and Adena (Frank) Poschke. He later married Arline Miller on May 26, 1945 in St. Joseph, MI. Leonard served in the United States Army during World War II as a Military Policeman with the 38th Military Counter Police Intelligence Detachment. After serving his country he returned home and worked for forty years for the Whirlpool Corporation retiring in 1987. Leonard is survived by his wife of 65 years, Arline and his children, Larry (Brenda) Poschke of Elwall, MI, Donna (Butch) McNair of St. Joseph and Allen (Nancy) Poschke of Stevensville. He is also survived by his brothers, Robert (Bonnie) Poschke of Benton Harbor and Irwin (Margaret) Poschke of Bridgman, ten grandchildren, Jill, Joy, Joseph, Ashley, Timothy, Lindsay, Gregory, Kristin, Karin and Kaitlin and nine great grandchildren.
