St. Joseph – Edward James Ring, 66, a.k.a. Ed, Eddie, Jim, Jimmy, Ringo, “the Dude†left this earthly life to be in his Savior's arms where he will no longer feel any pain, on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at 11:00 p.m. A Celebration of his Life will be held on Friday, May 21, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 404 E. Glenlord Rd. in St. Joseph. The visitation will be held at Starks and Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd. in St. Joseph on Thursday, May 20, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be given to Hospice at Home or Grace Lutheran Church.
Jim was born on April 5, 1944 in Ventura, CA to Myron and Helen (Cleary) Ring. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School. Jim served in the United States Marine Corp from 1962-1966 and was in Vietnam for 13 months. After serving in the military he worked at New Products Corporation from 1967 until 2006. He married, Nancy Kuball on February 12, 1966 in Benton Harbor.
Jim is survived by his wife, Nancy, two sons, Scott (Leslie) Ring of Lansing, and Mark (Heather) Ring of St. Joseph, and two grandchildren, Luke and Olivia of St. Joseph. One brother, Myron (Sandra) Ring of Cedar Valley, UT, two sisters, Gaynel Henke of Kalamazoo and Jamie Dienes of Benton Harbor and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces who dearly loved him.
