Raymond “Ray†Radde, 75, of St. Joseph, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at Lakeland Hospital.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 A.M. Monday, May 17, 2010 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 619 Market St., St. Joseph with Pastor Thomas Batsky officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Friends may visit from 2:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. Sunday, May 16, 2010 at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, The Lutheran Hour, St. Joseph-Lincoln Senior Center or charity of choice. Ray was born November 28, 1934 in St. Joseph, MI to Arthur & Anna (Knuth) Radde. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1952. Ray served his country in the United States Army from 1957 until 1959. On October 15, 1960 he married Donna Wagner at Saint Matthew's Lutheran Church in Benton Harbor. Ray worked for Whirlpool Corporation for 39 years. He was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Treasurer of the St. Joseph-Lincoln Senior Center and the Berrien County Republican Party, member of the Whirlpool Golden Eagles, Stevensville American Legion and Fraternal Order of Police Post 96. Ray also served as a Berrien County Commissioner.
Ray is survived by his wife Donna Radde of St. Joseph; two sons Scott Radde of Ann Arbor, MI, and Todd Radde of Atlanta, GA; granddaughter Avery Cole; sister Phyllis Thumm of St. Joseph; brother Robert (Joan) Radde of St. Joseph; many nieces and nephews. Ray was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Eunice and Gloria Radde.
Ray touched many lives and will be remembered and missed by all who loved and knew him.
