William B. Gardner

William B. Gardner, 66, of Galien, passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at his home. William was born June 11, 1944 in E. St. Louis, IL to Lawrence & Joyce (Ponder) Gardner. He graduated from Kofa High School in Yuma, AZ. William served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War for six years. After returning from the service William worked at Shell Oil Company in CA. as an Operation Supervisor for many years. On December 29, 2007 he married Barbara Caraway in Laughlin NV. In his spare time he enjoyed restoring vintage cars, fishing, and his winter home in Arizona where he enjoyed mexican food and margaritas. William is survived by his wife Barbara Gardner of Galien; son Bill (Angela) Gardner of Des Moines, IA; two granddaughters Jessica, and Courtney; grandson Cassidy; one great granddaughter Mylee; three brothers Randy (Judy) Gardner of Merlin, OR., James (Anne) Gardner of King City, CA and David Gardner of Yuma, AZ; sister Pat (Sam Whitlatch) Deckard of Yuma, AZ; and many nieces. William was preceded in death by his parents and brother Glen Gardner. Memorials may be made to the Berrien County Cancer Service.
