Lydia's Obituary
Lydia M. Krumrie, 91, of St. Joseph, went home to meet her Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at The Willow's where she had resided for the last two years.
A Celebration of Life Eternal will be held 1:00 P.M. Monday, June 21 at the First Church of God, 2627 Niles Ave., St. Joseph. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 3:00 until 5:00 P.M. Saturday, June 19 at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Lydia was born November 29, 1918 in Benton Harbor to Paul & Alvina (Janke) Rocks. She graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1937. On May 25, 1940, she married Arnold R. Krumrie in St. Joseph. They celebrated nearly 58 years of marriage before his passing on May 2, 1998. Lydia was a life long resident of the Twin Cities, working at Cooper Wells, Bell Telephone as an operator, Enders Co., Rimes, Dottie's Chapeau, and finishing her career as a real estate agent for ERA Red Arrow & Prudential Real Estate.
Lydia was a life-long member of the First Church of God where she and her husband were active in organizing the annual church picnic and members of the Couple's Club. She was a member PTO with Benton Harbor Schools, holding various leadership positions, and of the Band & Orchestra Parents Association at Benton Harbor High School which participated in the Blossomtime Festivities. She was also a member of The Toastmistresses. Most important was the time she spent with her family. In her free time, Lydia enjoyed cooking, baking & cake decorating.
Lydia is survived by her daughter Linda J. (Sanford) Wise of St. Joseph; her son Arnold A. (Patricia) Krumrie of Caledonia, MI; three granddaughters-Jennifer Beth Wise, Alison & Sarah Krumrie; and her sister Freda (Harold) Starbuck of Rockford, IL. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers Helmut & Ewalt Rocks, and her sister Hilda Bailey.
