Randy's Obituary
Randy Lee Dortch, 50, of St. Joseph, MI., graduated to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at his home embraced in the arms of his wife. A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held to honor his accomplishments.
Randy was born on October 9, 1959, in Chicago, IL to Richard and Fannie Mae (Allen) Dortch. He married his high school sweetheart, Cheryl Chalmers on May 2, 1987 in Chicago, IL. Randy and Cheryl recently moved to St. Joseph, Michigan to continue his engineering career as a Quality Specialist with Palisades Nuclear in Covert, MI.
Randy is is survived by his wife, Cheryl, his “pride†son, Robert Allen and his “baby girl†daughter, Randi Elayne. He is also survived by his parents, Richard and Fannie Mae of Gilbert, AZ, sisters, Lynda (Maurice) Ragsdale of Chandler, AZ, Lorraine (Dennis) Henley of Gilbert, AZ and brother, Richard Dortch III of Chicago, IL. Randy's sister in-laws are Charlotte (Zachary) Hamilton of Dyer, IN, Paula Chalmers who most likely greeted him at the pearly gates and Victoria (Trent) Taylor of Nashville, TN. His brother in-law is Cornelius Chalmers III of LaVergne, TN. Randy leaves two mother in-laws, Frances Chalmers of Richton Park, IL and Louise Giddens of LaVergne, TN.
Randy will surely miss his “original angelâ€, niece, Latoia, other nieces; Kia, Bryanna, Myan, Jasma and Alexis; great nieces, Gianna, Leila and Ava; his nephews, Brandon (Gina), Trent and Brian. Randy proudly nurtured his god-daughters; Shayna, Lakina and Kourtney. A multitude of relatives, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends have shared Randy's zestful life.
