James Marquardt

Jim, 71, was born October 8, 1938, in St. Joseph, MI and passed away at his home in St. Joseph on May 5, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard W. and Irene E. (Warskow) Marquardt, sister, Sally Benner and niece, Amanda Benner. He is survived by former wife, Diana Marquardt of Houston, TX, and children, Lisa and Brett. He is also survived by brothers Richard G. (Lea) Marquardt of Nashville, TN, and Robert C. (Norma) Marquardt of Fairmont, WV, brother-in-law, William E. Benner of St. Joseph, several cousins, a nephew, and many nieces. Jim graduated from St. Joseph high school and received a bachelor's degree from Michigan State University. Until his retirement, he spent a career in the oil industry in various capacities. A brief Memorial service will be held Sunday, August 8, 2010 at the First Congregational Church (UCC), 2001 Niles Ave. in St. Joseph. This service will be held in the church's Memorial Garden immediately after the 9:55 A.M. regular worship service, with the Reverend Robert Bramen officiating.
