Margaret's Obituary
Margaret Weber, 96, of Benton Harbor, passed away March 20, 2010 at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph, surrounded by her family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 A.M. Saturday, March 27, 2010 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 555 Delaware in Benton Harbor with Fr. William J. Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow at Kniebes Cemetery in Coloma. Friends may visit Friday, March 26, 2010 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with the rosary recited at 7:30 P.M at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to SS John & Bernard Catholic Church, Lake Michigan Catholic School, or American Macular Degeneration Foundation. Margaret was born July 9, 1913 in Benton Harbor, MI to Matthew & Mary (Elkins) Yore. She graduated from St. John's Catholic School in 1931. She and first husband Jerry owned a grocery store in Millburg for many years. After his passing, she married Aaron and they ran a family farm in Bainbridge until retirement. She than worked for Avery's Bakery and Hobby Horse in St. Joseph and the North Berrien Senior Center in Coloma. In her spare time she enjoyed spending time with family and friends and everyone knew her as “Grannyâ€.
Margaret is survived by her daughter Jane Leatz of Benton Harbor; two grand daughters Margaret (John) Wycoff of FL, and Kathy (John) Paustian of Benton Harbor; three great grandchildren Brian (Stacey) Wycoff of KY, Jeremy Wycoff of FL, and Michele (Dan) Carpenter of Kalamazoo; three great-great grand children Madison, Jaren and Layla Wycoff and many nieces & nephews.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husbands Jerry Edelberg and Aaron Weber; three brothers Art, Bill and Pat Yore, two sisters Frances Rubeck and Katherine Krieger; son-in-law Charles Leatz.
