Beatrice Barnes, 84, of Benton Harbor, passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:30 Friday, April 16, 2010 at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd. Burial will follow at Crystal Springs Cemetery. Friends may visit from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Thursday, April 15, 2010 at the funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Lakeland Hospice. Beatrice was born March 15, 1926 in Caruthersville, MO to Joseph & Sallie Waller. She married John Rutherford and worked for Pearl Grange. She loved to dance, sew, collect dolls, and spend time with her dog Cookie.
Beatrice is survived by her four daughters and son, Mary Ann Alsup of Benton Harbor, Sandy Eyerly of Benton Harbor, David (Wanda) Rutherford of Dowagiac, Martha (Sterling) Bailey of Lawrence, and Brenda (Gary) Crowder of Watervliet; Many grand and great grandchildren; brother Noble Clark; Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents and husband; son Jackie Rutherford; three brothers Jessie Waller & James Waller and J.C. Clark; sister Lessie Pearl.
