George Bischoff, 68, of Stevensville, passed away Monday, March 1, 2010 at Lakeland Continuing Care in Berrien Center.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday, March 5, 2010 at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Pastor Thomas Batsky officiating. Burial will follow at Lincoln Township Cemetery. Friends may visit from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. and 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday, March 4, 2010 at the funeral home. George was born October 14, 1941 in St. Joseph, MI to Reinhold & Mabel (Mast) Bischoff. He graduated from Lakeshore High School in 1959. On March 11, 1977 he married Linda Hawk in Stevensville. George worked for the Cook Nuclear Plant for many years. In his spare time he enjoyed going to breakfast with his friends at Sophia's, traveling, gardening, watching the Cubs and NASCAR, but most of all spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.
George is survived by his wife Linda Bischoff of Stevensville; daughter: Lynn Van Pelt of Portage, MI; three sons: George (Cheryl) Bischoff of Oak Park, MI, Mark Bischoff of Beverly Hills, MI and Jeff (Kim) Van Pelt of Mabelvale AR; four Grandchildren: Shawn, Kristy, Kim and Paul; one great grandchild Joshua; brother David (Judy) Bischoff of Stevensville, MI; two sisters Lucille Whetstone of Mishawaka, IN and Rose (Louie) Beckman of Lawrence, MI; many nieces and nephews; George was preceded in death by his parents.
