Kenneth R. Worthington

Kenneth R. Worthington, 62, of St. Joseph passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at his home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 3:00 P.M. Friday, February 5, 2010 at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with pastor Marlo Fritzke officiating. Friends may visit from 2:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. Kenneth was born August 15, 1947 in Clinton, TN to Dennie and Ruth (Fox) Worthington. He proudly served our country as a Sgt. in the US Army during the Vietnam War where he was stationed in Thailand. Ken earned a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of South Carolina and enjoyed a long career as a nuclear engineer, most recently working at Donald C. Cook Nuclear Plant in Bridgman, MI for 15 years before retiring. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with family and friends particularly the love of his life Ann Marie, his wife of 28 years. His hobbies included fishing, gardening, poker, rooting for his favorite team University of TN, and especially golf. Kenneth is survived by his wife Ann Marie Worthington of St. Joseph; three daughters Brandi (Kip) Lowe of South Riding, VA, Amy (Matthew) Brown of Seneca, SC, and Kelly Nicole Worthington of Denver, CO; two granddaughters Madison and Jordan Lowe; parents Ruth & Dennie Worthington of Clinton, TN; brother David (Anne) Worthington of Clinton, TN; nephew Dennie Worthington of Clinton, TN; mother-in-law Mary Chomo; three sisters-in-law Linda (Frank) Uran, Paulette (Robert) Bigott, Rose (Jeffery) Szpak; brother-in-law Paul (Mary) Chomo; many nieces and nephews.
