St. Joseph, MI – John W. Lottridge, 74, of St. Joseph, MI, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at his home. A funeral service celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 29 at Riverview Park Christian Church, 2929 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service starting at 10:00 a.m. There will be a luncheon immediately following the service. The arrangements are with Starks and Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or the Veterans Hospital of Ann Arbor.
John was born on October 30, 1935 in Coloma, MI to Jack and Gladys (Hill) Lottridge. He married his high school sweetheart, Patricia Ann Forsythe on September 19, 1959. John was an Army Veteran. He retired from St. Joseph Charter Township as their assessor and building inspector.
John enjoyed fishing, golfing and spending time with his girls and grandchildren. He enjoyed traveling with his wife after retirement and even returned to working part time for the Berrien County Treasurers office. He was a member of the former Peace Temple United Methodist Church.
John is survived by his wife, Patricia of St. Joseph, his mother, Gladys Lottridge of Watervliet and his three daughters, Terri Lyon of Irons, MI, Pam (Neill) Kirkwood of Nappanee, IN and Monica (Karl) Werelius of Hau'ula, HI. John is also survived by six grandchildren, Kate Lyon, Wesley Kirkwood, Hannah Kirkwood, William Kirkwood, Lillian Werelius and Isabel Werelius, a sister, Judy (Herb) Kehlstrom of Racine, WI, a brother, Harold “Bud†(Jeanette) Lottridge of Watervliet and a host of favorite cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, John Joseph Lottridge.
