Helene Woerner Brintnall

Helene W. Brintnall, 84, of St. Joseph, MI died on Saturday March 6, 2010 at the Bristol House of Caretel Inns of Royalton after an extended illness. Arrangements have been entrusted with Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home of St. Joseph, MI. Helene was born June 17, 1925 in Chicago, IL to Joseph and Eleanor (McManiman) Woerner. She attended St. Mary of the Woods College in Terre Haute, IN, and also studied at the Art Institute of Chicago. Helene worked at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago where she met her husband, Robert L. Brintnall. Her later artistic pursuits included landscape painting, original needlework, home decorating, and traveling extensively with her husband. Amongst her pastimes were flower gardening and landscape design, and playing bridge. Helene also volunteered as a teacher's aide for St. Joe Catholic and Lake Michigan Catholic Schools, served as a scouting leader and volunteered for a variety of athletic teams and was active in Birthright. But her favorite role was MOM and her highest priority was always her family. Helene is survived by her husband Robert; her three children, Kathryn Brintnall of Hillsborogh, NJ, John (Marsha) Brintnall of Bloomington, MN, and Jim Brintnall of Wheaton, IL; seven grandchildren, Matthew Rudnyanszky, Kevin (Keng) Brintnall, Lisa (Steve) Cronk, Michelle (Brian Chester fiance') Brintnall, Melanie Brintnall, Kristin Brintnall and Kyle Brintnall; and two great grandchildren, Austin and Sarah Brintnall. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 10, 10:00am at the St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father James Morris and Msgr. Eugene Sears officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Visitation is on Tuesday, March 9, from 5:00-7:00pm, with a scripture service at 7:00pm, at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI.
