Lowell's Obituary
Lowell Miller
ST. JOSEPH – Lowell Miller, 66, of Wallace, Idaho, formerly of St. Joseph, passed away in Nambour, Queensland, Australia, on Jan. 13, 2010. Born in Chicago on Aug. 31, 1943, Lowell was the son of Stanley and Phyllis Miller. He is survived by children, Tonia, Wendy, Heather and Quinn Miller, his brother Vance, and sisters, Cherie Miller and Lyn Sennholz. Lowell graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1961 and the University of Arizona in 1966. He also received his master’s degree in business administration from the University of Chicago and studied agriculture at Michigan State University.
Lowell worked summers at New Products Corp. and later served on the board of directors. He managed Walter Miller Farms in Benton Harbor and was the founder and CEO of WIN Inc. (Worldwide Investment Network). After being in real estate brokerage development in the greater St. Joseph area, he took his talents to the Silver Valley in Idaho. Lowell was the founder and president of, Silver Corp. of America, a public stock company, and overseer of many other silver-related private companies. Through his enthusiasm for silver he was led to design and manufacture his own line of collectable silver coins for SCA. While his main focus was silver he was also the CEO of Tiffany Gold, seller of fine gemstones.
Lowell wanted his friends and family prepared for difficult times, and had a heart for people to be healthy. His interests in health and nature lead him to create vegetable and herb gardens. He loved to landscape with his favorite flower, tiger lilies. He always had something to say, enjoyed a good meal and worked very hard on much of what he did. He was a special man who is deeply loved by his children, who will remember the many valuable lessons their father taught them. Lowell spent much of his life searching and studying the Bible, and we are blessed to know that Jesus was there to lead him through the valley of the shadow of death in his final moment (Psalm 23).
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 22, at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph.
