Wayne Clauss Sr., 88, of St. Joseph passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at his home. Memorial Service will be celebrated 12:00 P.M. Friday, December 18, 2009 at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home. Wayne was born April 27, 1921 in Duquoin, IL to Otto & Jessie May (Stewart) Clauss. Wayne served his country in the Army during WWII. On November 10, 1941 he married June Davis in Bridgman. Wayne worked for Paramount Die Casting in Stevensville for 25 years. Wayne was a member of the First United Methodist Church in St. Joseph. In his spare time he enjoyed golfing, woodworking, and was an avid race car fan going to the Hartford Motor Speedway every Friday. Wayne is survived by his wife June Clauss of St. Joseph; two daughters Carol (Raymond) Conklin of St. Joseph, Margie (Steve) Chappel of Watervliet; son Wayne (Kathy) Clauss of Dowagiac; 5 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sister Mary Schultz of Homestead, FL. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents.
