Gwendolyn Maxine Trousdale

Gwendolyn Maxine Trousdale, 66, of St. Joseph, lost her fight with cancer Monday, February 22, 2010 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the Church of Christ, 1495 E. Empire Ave., Benton Harbor with Rusty Stark officiating. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma. Friends may call from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Gwen was born March 20, 1943 in Minor Hill, Tennessee to William J. & Margie C. (Burgess) Faulkenberry. Gwendolyn devoted thirty plus years of her life to home health care & nursing. For the last seven years she had been employed by Comfort Keepers, where she was named Employee of the Year in 2009. Gwen was a member of the Benton Harbor Church of Christ on Empire Ave. She was affiliated with Lory's Place and Hospice. Gwen loved to listen to music at the Box Factory, watch the sunsets, take nice long walks and visit the elderly and shut in. Her family and friends were very important to her. Most of all she enjoyed her grandchildren. Gwen is survived by her children-Sheila (Jeffrey B. Smith) Trousdale-Smith of Daytona Beach, FL, Keith Trousdale of Daytona Beach, FL, Martin Trousdale of Coloma, Rose Robin (Barry) Kephart of Daytona Beach, FL; seven grandchildren-Sommer Smith, Zackary, Abigail, & Samantha Trousdale, Travis, Amber & Logan Kephart; her sister Mildred Pierce of Benton Harbor; and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and by a sister Hildred Thomas.
