Marian Foster Danielson

Marian Foster (Rutz) Danielson, 90, of St. Joseph, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2009 at Caretel Inns of Lakeland. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 A.M. Monday, December 21, 2009 at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with pastor Gordon Barry officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 20, 2009 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Lakeland Hospice or Child & Family Services of Southwest Michigan. Those wishing to sign the memory book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Marian was born May, 11, 1919 in Roseland, IL to Edwin & Caroline (Klenk) Foster. She graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1937. On August 17, 1940 she married Leo Rutz who preceded her in death. In July of 1984 she then married John Danielson who also preceded her in death. Marian worked as a homemaker taking care of her family making sure they were well cared for. Marian was a member of the Civic Benefit Club, Child and Family Services and the Krasl Art Center. In her spare time she enjoyed dollhouse miniatures, sewing, drawing, playing bridge and going to Florida every winter. Marian is survived by her daughter Carol (Michael) Emery of Coloma; son John Rutz of Watervliet; two grandchildren Michael Emery Jr. of Coloma and Michelle (Jacob) Gremore of St. Joseph; great grandchild Madison Gremore of St. Joseph; sister Ethel DeGroot of Kalamazoo and many nieces and nephews. Marian was preceded in death by her parents and brother Edwin Foster Jr.
