Florine G. Quade

St. Joseph, MI – Florine Gladys Quade, 88, of St. Joseph, MI, entered into Eternal Life to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph. A Mass of Celebration will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 18, 2010 at St. John's CatholicChurch, 600 Columbus, Benton Harbor, MI. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, January 17, 2010 from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M (Prayer Services at 5:00 p.m.) at Starks and Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Readiness Center. Florine was born on June 16, 1921 in Keeler Twp. to DeLloyd and Lena (Kietzer) Peters. She worked many years as a waitress at the Captain's Table, Brass Rail and Benton Harbor Holiday Inn. On November 16, 1959 she married Herb Quade in St. Joseph, MI. Florine enjoyed being a member and financial assistant for the Coast Guard Auxillary. Additionally, she loved preparing meals and hosting family gatherings. She also enjoyed collecting all varities of cookbooks. Florine enjoyed a good laugh and a rousing card game. Finally, Florine was an avid animal lover and leaves behind her special pet “Boots”. Florine is survived by her daughter, Mary (Michael Krieger) Ikola of Stevensville, MI and three sons, Thomas (Thelma) Pugh of Orlando, FL, Richard (Zoja) Blocker of Schaumburg, IL and Jim (Carol) Bocker of Berrien Springs, MI. She is also survived by her sister, Maxine Kreiger of St. Joseph, MI, her brother, Kenneth Peters of Coloma, MI, eight grand children, Craig, Kathleen, Sarah, Michael, Jennifer, Jason, Jeff, Whitney and six great grandchildren. Florine was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Herb Q, Jeff Blocker and W.J. Pugh, Jr, a son, John Pugh, a granddaughter, Dawn Reed and a great grandson, Zachary Ikola.
