David L. Tiefenbach

Stevensville, MI – David Leonard Tiefenbach, 69, of Stevensville, MI, entered into Eternal Life to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend. A funeral service celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 404 E. Glenlord Rd., St. Joseph, MI. Burial will be at a later date at Hickory Bluff Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, January 15, 2010 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M at Starks and Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church. David was born on April 2, 1940 in Benton Harbor, MI to Leonard and Lydia (Krieger) Tiefenbach. He worked many years for the Berrien County Sheriff's Department retiring as Chief of Detectives. He married the love of his life, Bonnie Erstling on September 9, 1961 in Benton Harbor, MI. David is survived by his wife, Bonnie and his two sons, Todd (Deborah) Tiefenbach and Scott (Sarah) Tiefenbach. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Elizabeth, Maxwell and Kathleen, his sister, Joy (Michael) Hartman, sister-in-law Jacquline and many nephews and nieces.
