Coloma, MI – Phyllis Margaret Johnson, 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 29, 2009, at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph, Mi. She was born on August 10, 1920, in Ingersoll, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of the late Horace Roy and the late Lillian Margaret (Turner) Owen. On June 7, 1941, she married her devoted husband, Gerald Edward (Ted) Johnson. They lived for many years in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada, before moving to Muncie, IN. in 1960. In 1996, they moved to Coloma, MI. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in St. Joseph.
She is the cherished mother of Karen Meeker (Kenneth) of Homer Glen, Il., and Judith Davison (Steven) of Loveland, Co., and the loving grandmother of Andrea Davison of Denver, Co., and Brian Davison of Loveland, Co. She is survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her deceased brothers, Lawrence Owen (the late Margaret) and Brock Owen, and her deceased sister, Mabel Watts (the late Robert).
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2009, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 914 Lane Dr, St. Joseph, MI. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the church lounge.
