Loretta Walters

Loretta Walters, 89, of St. Joseph was taken to heaven early Friday morning, November 13, from her home at the Whitcomb in St. Joseph, MI. Arrangements have been entrusted with Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home of St. Joseph. Loretta was born August 7, 1920, in Sodus, MI, the oldest daughter of Ed and Elsie (Froehlich) Herman. In 1949 she married Roy Walters, and they became the proud parents of one daughter, Angie. God blessed them with 4 grandchildren-Kathie, Tim, Debbie and Beth. Loretta is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Angie and Larry Larsen of St. Joseph, grandson and granddaughter-in-law Tim & Jill Larsen of Plainwell, and granddaughters Debbie and Beth Larsen of St. Joseph. She is also survived by her sisters Eloise Scheffler of Coloma, Margaret (Les) Bernard of Florida, Joyce (Norm) Strunk of Florida and her brother Ervin (Bobbie) Herman of Wisconsin. Welcoming her to her new home are her husband Roy, long-time companion Harold, oldest granddaughter Kathie, her parents, and brothers Ed (Sam), Richard and Robert. A Celebration of Life will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 11:30am, at Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church in Benton Harbor with Rev. Gerald Schroer officiating. Visitation is on Tuesday, from 10:30-11:30am at the church. Loretta's final resting place will be at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Tampa, Florida.
