Virginia E. Hoffman

Virginia E. Hoffman, 90 of Benton Harbor, MI, took her Lord’s hand on Monday, October 19, 2009 at Orchard Grove Extended Care in Benton Harbor, MI. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 23, 2009 at Starks & Menchinger Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd. – St. Joseph, MI. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Virginia was born to James and Jessie (Maier) Ward on May, 18, 1919 in St. Joseph, MI. She is survived by her two sons, John (Sandra) Hoffman of Benton Harbor and Douglas (Tammy) Hoffman of Benton Harbor and a son-in-law, Barry Harmon. She was survived by 11 grandchildren, John Hoffman, Rhonda Rockhill, Lynda Acker, Michelle Harmon, Robert Harmon, Debbie Morrow, Suzy Gaston, Ashleigh Flanner, Janelle Flanner, Douglas Lake and Ryan Lake, 17 great grand children, 1 great-great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, James and Jessie, her daughter, Carol Hoffman Harmon, two sisters, Mildred Ward and Lucille Ward, and five brothers, Edward Ward, James Ward, Maurice Ward, Chester Ward and Robert Ward.
