Betty Jean Cheney

Betty Jean (Weiland) Cheney, 87, of Dowagiac, passed away Saturday, February 14, 2015 at her daughter’s home in English, Indiana. A Celebration of life will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, February 21, at  Clark Chapel, 405 Center Street in Dowagiac with Rev. Terri Sachjen officiating.  Visitation will be held beginning a 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.  Graveside Services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Betty was born July 26, 1927 in Dowagiac to Clarence and Elsie (Like) Weiland.  She was united in marriage to Richard Cheney in Dowagiac on April 30, 1947.  Betty’s calling in life was to care for her family.  She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and enjoyed watching movies with them and working hours upon hours putting puzzles together and listening to music. Betty is survived by her children; Linda Hart of Dowagiac, MI., Judy Braniff of Modesto, CA., Sharon (Bill) Keller of English, IN., Leroy Cheney of Dowagiac, MI. and Mark Cheney of Elkhart, IN., 19 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, two sons, Richard and Charles, her grandson Dwayne, five brothers & one sister.
