Alvin's Obituary
Alvin A. Lucker 82 of St Joseph, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2009 at Jordan’s Nursing Home.
Friends may call Sunday, September 13, 2009 from 3:00P.M. until 6:00P.M. at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. A Private burial will follow at a later date at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to Peace Lutheran Church in St. Joseph. Mr. Lucker was born on February 1, 1927 in Baroda, MI to Roy and Edna (Ott) Lucker. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School. Alvin served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He was employed at Whirlpool as an Inspector and retired after 40 years. On February 6, 1953 he married the former Ruth Palinske in St. Joseph. Alvin was a member of the Whirlpool golf & bowling team. Alvin enjoyed gardening, hunting and the out doors. Alvin was a loving husband and father who will be greatly missed.
Alvin is survived by his wife Ruth; his daughter Brenda (Ronald) Kuhn of Mattawan; Grandson Matthew Kuhn of Kalamazoo, sisters; Luella (Richard) Fausak of Bridgman, Leola (Raymond) Domke of Benton Harbor, Kathryn (Michael) Holaday, brothers; Jerry (Alice) Lucker of FL, Roy Lucker of FL and Sister-in-law Alice A. Franks of Bridgman. Alvin was preceded in death by his mother Edna and his father Roy, sisters Lucille Domke and Laverne Lenge.
