Wayne William George Webber

Wayne William George Webber, 75, of St. Joseph, passed away Monday, September 28, 2009, at his home. A Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday, October 1, 2009 at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Southwest Michigan or a charity of the donor’s choice. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guest book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Wayne was born April 9, 1934 in Bellevue, Iowa, to Edwin & Edna Webber. On September 3, 1964 he married Lorraine Thomson in Amana, Iowa. Wayne was a Science Teacher and coach at Bridgman High School and later taught many years, and retired from Benton Harbor Area Schools. He was a member of the St. Joseph Elks lodge and Saron Lutheran Church. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, traveling, spending time with family and friends and helping at his daughter’s farm. Wayne is survived by his wife Lorraine Webber of St. Joseph; three daughters Marcia (Ross) Reck of Tempe, AZ., Carol (Doug) Summersgill of Perrysburg, OH., and Kristin Webber of Baroda, MI; six grandchildren, Philip, Nancy, and Katie Reck, Chris, Andy, and Sally Summersgill. Mr. Webber was preceded in death by his parents and his only sister Betty Cassaday.
