Marsue Bradley, 82, of Benton Harbor, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2009 at Lakeland Specialty Hospital in Berrien Center.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday at St. Matthew’s Missionary Baptist Church, 2026 Highland Ave., Benton Harbor, with Rev. Eddie Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Crystal Springs Cemetery. Friends may call beginning at 10:00 A.M. Friday at the church. Mrs. Bradley was born May 18, 1926 in Henning, Tennessee to Mark & Emma (Jarrett) Lake. On October 12, 1946, she married Rev. L.V. Bradley in Henning, TN. Marsue was devoted to her family-raising seventeen children and supporting her husband in his ministry at St. Matthew’s. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Mrs. Bradley is survived by her children-L.V. (Mary) Bradley of Benton Harbor, Robert Bradley of Atlanta, GA, Nevada Bradley of Chicago, Emmitt (Tracy) Bradley of Benton Harbor, Edward Bradley of Yorktown, VA, Eric (Gosia) Bradley of Miami, FL, Timothy Bradley and Annie (Edward) Johnson both of Benton Harbor, Virginia Bradley of Milwaukee, Linda Bradley of Benton Harbor, Vernell Bradley and Joyce Copperwood both of Grand Rapids; 35 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; her brother James Lake of Henning, TN; and three sisters-Ethel Mae Fields and Emma Jean Lake both of Henning, TN, and Lizzie Bennitt of Halls, TN. Marsue was preceded in death by her husband Rev. L.V. Bradley on September 16, 2007, by five children-Billy Davis Bradley, Patricia Ann Bradley, Brenda Bradley, Betty Jean Bradley and Bobby Vinson Bradley, her son-in-law Anderson Copperwood of Grand Rapids, her parents-Mark & Emma Lake of Henning, three brothers-Ulysses & Charles Lake of Henning, Marvin Lake of Detroit, two sisters Willie Bea Johnson of Chicago, Louise Wright of Henning, two brothers-in-law Freddie Lee Fields & Henry Wright of Henning, and a sister-in-law Annie Vera Lake of Detroit.
