Ronni Kay Seem, 72, of Cassopolis, Michigan, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, December 9th, 2014.
Ronni was born on November 10th, 1942 in Dowagiac to Floyd and Marilyn Thomas. United in marriage over 50 years ago on March 7, 1964 to Ronald Seem of Dowagiac, MI. Ronni is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Ronald Seem, her three children; Robert (Laura) Seem of Cassopolis, Karie (Mike) Dussel of Cassopolis and John (Sherri) Seem of Portage, MI. She is also survived by one sister, Jacqueline (Dale) Schmidtendorff of Traverse City, Michigan. Ronni also leaves behind eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Ronni was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Marilyn Thomas of Dowagiac.
Her greatest joys in life were raising her children and grandchildren and supporting their interests and serving her Lord, Jesus, as the Wakelee United Methodist Church organist for over 25 years. She loved gardening and planting flowers and she enjoyed baking and was known for her delicious apple pie and homemade cinnamon rolls. She was a member of the Captain Samuel Felt DAR organization serving as treasurer for many years.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to her caring and dedicated medical teams of the Elkhart Clinic Cancer Center, Goshen Cancer Treatment Center, Elkhart General Hospital Oncology unit and the Hospice at Home staff.
A gathering of family and friends will take place Saturday, December 13th from 10 a.m. to noon at Clark Chapel and Cremation Services, 405 Center Street, Dowagiac, MI. A funeral service will be held at noon following visitation with Pastor John Messner of the Wakelee United Methodist Church. Ronni will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery in Dowagiac. Memorial Contributions can be made in her honor to the Wakelee United Methodist Church in Wakelee and/or the Captain Samuel Felt chapter of the DAR.
