Wilma's Obituary

Wilma E. Schadler, 83, of Stevensville, passed away Friday, July 06, 2007, at home. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00A.M., Wednesday, July 11, 2007, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 2673 W. John Beers Rd., Stevensville, with Rev. Gerald Schroer officiating. Burial will follow in North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma. Visitation is from 5:00P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorial donations may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or Berrien County Cancer Service. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guestbook online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com Wilma was born on June 9, 1924, in Oronoko Township, Michigan, to Benjamin and Elsie (Jasper) Seely. She married Edward Schadler, Sr. on May 27, 1944. Wilma was a graduate of St. Mary’s College. She worked as an LPN at Mercy Hospital, and retired from Berrien County Health Department in 1975. Family and friends were a great joy to Wilma, and she enjoyed painting and crocheting. Wilma was very active in the community and was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Lincoln Township Friendship Club, Widow and Widowers Club, St. Paul’s Bible Study group, Grace Owls, and Grace Bible Study. Wilma is survived by her son Edward (Janith) Schadler, Jr., of Berrien Springs; daughters Barbara (Gary) Horton of Stevensville, and Leona (Joseph) Klupp of Berrien Springs; brother Benjamin Seely of Tuscan, AZ; 5 grandchildren, Tammy (Tim) Pallett, Kim (Jay) Rice, Scott (Michelle) Schadler, Debbie (Andy) Runser, and JoAnn Klupp; 8 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward in 1985; brother Louis Seely; and niece Linda McAlvey.
