Evelyn's Obituary

Evelyn A. Mack, 85, of St. Joseph, passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2006, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M., on Wednesday, April 18, 2007, at St. John’s Catholic Church, 600 Columbus, Benton Harbor, with Fr. Bill Jacobs, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Friends may visit with the family from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 17, 2007, at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, where a prayer service will be held at 7:30 P.M. Memorial donations may be made to the Michigan Heart Association or Hospice at Home. Friends may send the family a condolence message at www.starks-menchinger.com. Evelyn was born on December 28, 1921, to John and Agnes (Hawes) McDonough in Chicago. Evelyn married Al Mack on June 26, 1941 in Chicago. Family was most important to her. She enjoyed raising her family and being a stay-at-home mother. She also enjoyed gardening. She is survived by her four children, John (Stephanie) Mack of St. Joseph, David (Janet) Mack of St. Joseph, Diane (Ronald) Parker of Gull Lake, and Jan (David) Schmaltz of St. Joseph; her grandchildren, Mickey, Cindy, Valerie, Anneliesa, Kristy, Kelly, Justin, Ryan, and Brandon; and two great-grandchildren, Amber and Taylor. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Al; and four sisters.
