Frances's Obituary

Frances “Pula” Izetta Archer passed away on December 23, 2013 in Dowagiac, she was daughter, cousin, sister, aunt, mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many. Pula was born on November 1, 1948 to Richard and Frances (Carr) Russell in Hollandale, Mississippi. She moved to Dowagiac in 1965 and on September 28, 1996 she married Tony Archer. Pula was quite a caregiver and worked as one for the Department of Human Services of Cass County. Pula loved to laugh, have fun and was a great cook. She enjoyed having visitors but visitors had to come to her since she was such a homebody and didn’t venture out much. Pula loved her children, grandchildren and great-children but had a spiteful side and they all knew it, at times she was referred to as quite a mess. She would give you the shirt off her back and the food off her table but along with her giving’s she was not afraid to give you a lecture to get you back on track. Pula is survived by her children; Kenneth Russell, Anthony (Rachele) Russell, Michelle Jackson and Larsharette McNichols, grandchildren; Janina Russell, Marcus McNichols, Ryan Russell, Anthony Russell, Khadejah McNichols, RaiQuin McNichols, Rolandis Russell, Anteyon Russell, Tyambi Jackson, Yeniah McNichols, Rashida Jackson and DaMario McNichols, step-grandchldren; Tarya Halcomb, Victor Halcomb and Elaiyh Pruitt, great-grandchildren; Savanah Russell, Kinyon Russell, Dramyiana Russell and Javion Russell, siblings; Katherine Willis, Richard Russell, Jr., Bobbie Russell, and Ruth Ann (Arthur) Russell Jackson. She is preceded in death by her brothers; Robert Lee Russell, Pete Russell and Robert Earl Russell, sisters; Mae Lee Russell and Ruthie Lee Russell Turner. Her home going Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Clark Chapel, 405 Center St. in Dowagiac with Rev. Tonie Blackamore officiating. A Repass held from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Second Baptist Church, 203 S. Paul St. in Dowagiac. Memorials may be made to the family c/o Clark Chapel.
