Lillian Marie Omweg

Lillian Marie Omweg, 65, of St. Joseph, died Monday, September 11, 2006, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph. Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:30 P.M., Wednesday, September 13, with Rev. Dr. Randy Doyle officiating at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Lillian was born October 17, 1940, in Tecumseh, Michigan to Arthur and Mary Jane (Roberts) Rutledge. She attended the University of Michigan, majoring in education, attaining her B.S. She married Leland “Lee” Omweg, who preceded her on November 28, 1991. She retired as a U.S. rural postal carrier. Lillian was a U. of M. football fan, member of the U.S. Rural Mail Carriers Association, and of the U. of M. Alumni. Lillian is survived by her daughter, Mary (Keith) Miller, of Gulfport, Mississippi; grandson, Ayden Miller, of Gulfport; her mother, Mary Jane Rutledge, of St. Joseph. She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Rutledge, in 1988.
