Glendell ‘Glen’ O. Banks, 69, of Benton Harbor, MI, passed away August 6, 2006, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph, MI. Arrangements have been entrusted with at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, St. Joseph, MI. Glen was born August 31, 1936, in Harrisburg, IL, to Otis and Lula (Rainey) Banks. On October 6, 1954, he married Onis Marie Holland. Glen had worked at Benton Harbor Engineering as an assembler, and had also been a baker. He loved to fish, work in his yard, mall-walking with his many friends, and watching the sunset off of the pier. He will be greatly missed by his family and many, many friends. Surviving Glen is his wife, Marie; his son, Jim (Debra) Banks of Benton Harbor; his six grandchildren, Novella (Steven) Casey, David Lee Banks, Jennifer (Valen) Thurston, Matt (Jennifer) Warren, Michael Banks and Jessica Marie Banks; seven great grandchildren; two Sisters, Bessie Faulkerson of Eldarado, IL, and Pauline (Roy) Donaldson of Hammond, IN; and a family of loving nieces, nephews, and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents-Otis and Lula, a daughter-Glenda Saffell, a granddaughter-Mandy Griggs, four brothers and five sisters. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 1:00p.m, with Rev. Robert Winninger officiating, at the Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Visiting hours precede the service from 10:00a.m.-1:00p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma, MI.
