Elizabeth J. Friske

Elizabeth’s life began on October 23, 1935 in Decatur, MI the daughter of John and Ada (Buchanan) Smith. Elizabeth retired after 27 years from the Dowagiac Schools. She wanted to help the school kids by going to garage sales and collecting clothing for them. She was very caring, helping numerous people, and loved being with her family. Her loving family includes her children; Carol Ferrel of Dowagiac, MI, Chris (Paul) Ferreira of Fennville, MI, Laura Strunk of Coloma, MI, John Friske of Fennville, and Sara (Noe) Peralez of Fennville, MI.; her grandchildren, Brenadette (Chris) Ledesma, Christine Casstillo, Scott (Alicia) Garrelts, Heather Garrelts, Ashley Friske, Kyle Friske, Joe Bevins, Travis Bevins, Jessica Bauer, and Kasy Karn; Great Grandchildren, Miguel, Gabriel, Angel, Daisy, Isabelle, Adonai, and Josiah; two sisters, Irene Sherburn of Decatur, MI and Maxine Cunningham of Elkhart IN, and many nieces and nephews. Elizabeth passed away on Monday September 30, 2013 at Lakeland Specialty in Berrien Center, MI. See was preceded by her parents, one sister Minnie Kuesske and two brothers, chuck and Leonard Smith. At Elizabeth’s request, private services will be held. Memorial contributions in her name may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
