Ann Hartmann Milham

After a brave eight-month battle with cancer, Ann passed away and entered the gates of Heaven. She was the kindest, most thoughtful, generous person you could ever hope to meet. Patient, forgiving, and always friendly, she was loved and respected by all who knew her. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00 P.M., on Wednesday, August 2, 2006, at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Rev. Wade Panse officiating. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park in Kalamazoo later on Wednesday afternoon. She was born to Otto and Elizabeth (Petschke) Hartmann in Hinsdale, IL on Aug. 11, 1922, and died July 29, 2006, just 13 days short of her 84th birthday and her 60th wedding anniversary. She was a 1941 graduate of Watervliet High School and become a full time homemaker and mother of two children after her marriage to Donald P. Milham in 1946. She served as a girl’s Sunday school class teacher, a cub scout den mother, and was an active member of the Methodist church in Watervliet and more recently in St. Joseph. She was an excellent seamstress, cook, baker, and dearly loved and appreciated all the beauties of nature. She will be greatly missed by everyone. Ann is survived by her husband, her sons Glenn (Barbara) and Donald O. (Mary Jane), five grand-daughters Marrianne, Margo, Christine, Merinda Milham, and Laura (Bracken) Spencer, two grandsons Donald E. (Nadine) and Paul (Harmony) Milham and one great-grandson Jacob Milham, and her brother Rev. George Hartmann. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother John, and a baby grand-daughter Ellen Marie Milham.
