Hildegarde Hertha Gordon, 92, of Dowagiac, MI, passed away, Friday September 20, 2013, at Forest Glen Assisted Living, Dowagiac, MI. A Celebration of Life Eternal will be held 10 A.M on Friday, September 27, 2013, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 603 McCleary St., Dowagiac, with Pastor Jeff Weber officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Dowagiac. Visitation will be from 6 to 8P.M. on Thursday September 26, 2013, at Clark Chapel & Cremation Services, 405 Center St. Dowagiac. Hildegarde was born September 3, 1921, in Breitenstein Germany, to Reinhold & Martha (Mueller) Pjesky. On March 24, 1945, she married Harold Gordon, in Dowagiac, MI. Hildegarde had a great love for her family and church. She enjoyed music and singing, sewing, crocheting, and knitting. She also enjoyed decorating wedding cakes and creating flower arrangements. Hildegarde enjoyed the outdoors, spending time gardening and walking in the woods looking for mushrooms in the spring and fall. She is survived by her five children, Karen Lee-Benner, of Michigan; Sandra Gordon, of Illinois; David Gordon, of South Carolina; Lorraine (John) Davis, of Ohio; Sherry (Jim Herring) Gordon, of Texas, seven grandchildren, Christopher Lee-Benner, Mark & Matthew Davis, Nevin, Wescott, Justin, and David Herring; and two great grandchildren, Jane & Paul Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Gordon, her parents, and her sister Erika Schilling.
