Kenneth Albert Petersen, 62, of Sawyer, MI, passed away at Lakeland Regional Hospital, St. Joseph, MI, on Friday, August 18, 2006. Arrangements have been entrusted with Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, St. Joseph, MI. Visitation – from 6:00p.m.-7:30p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life Memorial Service at 7:30p.m., with Msr. Eugene Sears officiating, will be held on Monday, August 21, at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Friends wishing to sign the family guestbook, or to leave a message of condolence, may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com Kenneth was born April 5, 1944, in Chicago, IL, to Albert and Charlotte (Whitmeyer) Petersen. Kenneth was a tool & die maker, having worked for Bosch for over 30 years, retiring in 2003. He was an avid bass fisherman, and was a member of the Berrien Bass Busters and the Michigan Bass Federation. He also loved to bowl – Tuesday and Thursday’s at Lakeshore Lanes; he officiated at High School girls and boys basketball games; loved to work in his garden; loved to karaoke and visit casino’s; was active in the UAW; and was a member of the American Legion Post in Bridgman. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Kenneth is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Zargzejewski), whom he married February 14, 2003, in Mauii, Hawaii; his children, Lori (Terry) Graves of Baroda, MI, Susan (Mick) Oldenburg of Sawyer, MI, Karen (Matthew) Ford of Baroda, MI, , Ingrid (Mark) Behnke of Hamilton, MI, and Kenneth Petersen, II of Baroda, MI; grandchildren, Katherine, Lyndsay, Margaret and Abigail Oldenburg, Elizabeth and Allison Graves, Raeghen and Bethany Behnke, and Lauren and Claire Ford; step-children, Julie (Jeffery) Keultjes, Jamie (Denise) Dolniak, and Joseph (Kory) Dolniak all of South Bend, IN, and Jeremy (Julie) Dolniak of Oak Park, IL; step-grandchildren, Isabel Keultjes, Emile Wooley, Ana Howenstine, Oliver Keultjes, Austin Keultjes, Samuel Dolniak, Nicholas Dolniak, Andra Dolniak, Carlyn Dolniak and Peter Dolniak; and four step-great grandchildren.
