Nancy's Obituary

Our angel here on earth, Nancy Marie Rohm, 53, of Benton Harbor, passed away at home with her family and friends by her side on Monday, August 14, 2006, after a short but valiant fight with cancer. A service celebrating her life will be held at 10:00 A.M., on Thursday, August 17, 2006, at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 404 E. Glenlord Rd., St. Joseph with Pastor Glenn Rosenbaum officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Friends may visit with the family from 5-9 P.M., on Wednesday, August 16, 2006, at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Nancy’s memory to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation or to the family. Nancy was born on November 21, 1952, in Benton Harbor. She was one of five children born to Harvey and Emma (Eisbrenner) Belter, Sr. She graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1971 where she was a member of the National Honor Society. She was employed by Heath/Zenith for 22 years, followed by Ausco Products for 5 years. Nancy married the love of her life William “Wild Bill” Rohm on July 30, 1994, on Mackinaw Island. They recently renewed their vows at home on their 12th wedding anniversary. Nancy was an avid Cubs and Colts fan and she loved to travel. Her greatest joys, however, were spending time with her friends and family and working in her flower gardens. Nancy was a loving wife, always striving to provide her and Bill with a beautiful home and a happy life. Nancy was a member of Grace Lutheran Church her entire life. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. In addition to her husband, Bill Rohm, Nancy is survived by a son, Phillip (Chris) Rohm and grandson, Zachary of Sawyer. Her parents- Harvey Sr. and Emma Belter of Benton Harbor and Bill’s parents, Harlan and Maurine Rohm of St. Joseph; three brothers- Harvey Jr. ( Sandy) Belter of Stevensville, Pastor Dennis (Rhoda) Belter of Appleton, WI, and Gregory (Karen) Belter of Watervliet. One sister- Cynthia (Roger) Schmalenberger and the light of her life, Andrew of Riverside and many other nephews, nieces and aunts and uncles. Nancy was preceded in death by her grandparents Justina and Emil Eisbrenner and Adolph and Marie Belter.
