Harold's Obituary
Harold Edwin Redman, 84, was united with his Savior on June 17, 2006, after a long illness. Harold was born September 2, 1921, to Murrell and Amy Pauline (Gaylord) Redman in Perrysburg, OH. He was joined in marriage to Wilma Wetherholt on February 23, 1957, at 20th Street Baptist Church in Huntington, WV. They have lived in St. Joseph since 1971 where Harold worked as a carpenter. After retiring from construction work, he worked for 10 years at D & W Foods in Stevensville. He enjoyed both his work and the people he served throughout his career.
He was an active member of North Lincoln Baptist Church for many years, serving in various capacities. More recently he had joined the membership of Berrien Center Bible Church. He had an interest in missions, and was blessed with a short term trip to Venezuela, to help with a building project for friends serving there.
He served as Staff Sergeant in Army 3073rd Ordinance Maintenance Company, from 1943 to 1946 in New Guinea and the Philippines.
In addition to his wife of almost 50 years, he is survived by two sons, Thomas (Denise) and Michael, both of Coloma, a daughter, Nancy of Ethiopia, a daughter-in-law, Deanna Redman, and two grandsons, Timothy and Michael of Austell, GA. Also surviving are two sisters, Mabel Pratt and Margaret Quick of Perrysburg, OH, along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Ronald, who died in 2001, and two sisters and three brothers.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 20, from 6:00-8:00 p.m., at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Lakeshore Baptist Church, Stevensville, on Wednesday, June 21, 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Maynard Schoen of the Berrien Center Bible Church officiating. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Langano Clinic, SIM project #30-92020 at Serving in Missions, P.O.
