Kathryn Dixon

Kathryn Margaret Dixon, 82, of St. Joseph, passed away Sunday evening, June 18, 2006 at Caretel Inns of Royalton. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, June 22, 2006, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 211 Church St., St. Joseph with Msgr. Thomas Martin and Msgr. Eugine Sears officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph. Memorial donations may be made either to National Cancer Institute or the Alzheimer’s Association. Kathryn was born November 19, 1923 in Kankakee, IL. She was one of two daughters born to Edward & Margaret Cantlin. On July 31, 1947, she married Glenn Dixon in Kankakee. Together they had five children, Cynthia, Rebecca, Deborah, Jeffery, and Laura. Kathryn was a devoted wife and mother and loved her family deeply. She was a long-time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Additionally, she was a member of Delphi International of Kankakee and was awarded a degree of MSHE from Purdue University. Kathryn is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Gillham of Grand Rapids, Rebecca Koehn of St. Joseph, Deborah (Ben) Schwartz of Stevensville, and Laura Dixon of Stevensville; four grandchildren, Scott (Joan) La Londe, Andrew (Ivonne) La Londe, and Katie & Michael Schwartz; and three great-grand children. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Dixon in 1996; her son, Jeffery Dixon; and her sister, Betty Thornton.
