Louise's Obituary

Louise A. Williamson, 81, of Dowagiac, passed away Monday, September 2, 2013, at the Timbers of Cass County, in Dowagiac, MI. Louise was born on November 10, 1931, in Dowagiac, MI, to James William & Mildred (Wittenbrook) Urick. On May 10, 1986 she married William Williamson in Niles, MI. Louise attended Southwest Michigan College where she earned her L.P.N. degree. She was a life-long resident of Dowagiac. Louise proudly served her country as a member of the U.S. Air Force. She loved art, cooking, and traveling. Louise enjoyed spending time with her many friends and family especially her grandchildren, whom she loved to share historical events with. Louise is survived by her five children, Kevin (Patsy) Silvia, of Arlington, VA; Joseph (Jo) Silvia, of Dowagiac, MI; James (Judy) Silvia, of Dowagiac, MI; Karen(Larry) Kijak, of Elkhart, IN; Mary (Craig) Jerz of Decatur, MI, eleven grandchildren, Debbie, Jon, Lisa, Allen, Mason, Chris, Kimberly, Danielle, Jason, Joey, Justin, 15 great grandchildren, two half-sisters, Dorilou Knoll of Decatur, MI; and Norma Rogers of Saginaw, MI; and her sister-in-law Shirley Urick of Americus, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William Williamson, her twin brother Lewis Urick and her half-sister Evelyn Morris. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 P.M, on Thursday September 5, at Yazel & Clark Chapel 405 Center St., Dowagiac. A Celebration of Life will be held 11 A.M., Friday September 6, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Dowagiac. Memorials may be made to Cass County Animal Shelter.
